Santander using Faxi to combat carparking issues at head office

Santander, a global, multinational bank which was named the Best Bank in the World, in 2012 have launched a Faxi journey sharing group for their head office in Milton Keynes.

With nearly 3000 staff and less than 300 parking spaces available to them Director of Organisation at Santander, Clive Hawes, is inundated with daily emails from staff requesting a car pooling solution to help ease the physical and financial constraints of car parking.

Faxi recently partnered with travel consultancy agency Go-Travel-Solutions and had the opportunity to present to Clive at their Smarter Mobility Forum event at the Transport Catapult offices in Milton Keynes. Within days a Faxi group was setup for Santander and their staff are already registering and experiencing the benefits of sharing journeys together.

If Faxi proves to be a success with staff there may also be the opportunity for a certain number of parking spaces in the car park to be prioritised for car sharers only at a later date. This practice has proved extremely successful at reducing the number of single occupancy vehicles at organisations including N-Power in Birmingham.
