To add to our growing portfolio of compatible devices, Faxi will be developing a new app for Microsoft Windows smartphones. Despite being one of the lesser-used smartphone devices, Faxi will be developing the app in response to demand from Northamptonshire County Council.
The new Faxi app will be able to support Northamptonshire’s company phone base of around 700 Windows phones, enabling employees to use the app to find ridesharing partners. Employees who share their commute via the Faxi app can benefit from free and priority car parking at the office, which can significantly reduce individual travel costs as well as reducing commute times.
In a recent survey conducted by Northamptonshire County Council to its 1,000 employees, 90% drive to work alone, and 18% said that Faxi would encourage them to rideshare on their daily commute.
With its aim to lead the way in green initiatives, Northamptonshire County Council is driving the Faxi scheme as part of its office migration plan – encouraging employees to rideshare in order to optimise the limited car parking available at the new office.
Faxi is continuing to develop the app and its technology to cater for a wider range of users and devices, enabling largescale uptake of ridesharing across corporate employers.
